SVC Adds Manufacturing Facilities |
|
July 17, 2003
On Wednesday, July 16, 2003, Specialized Vehicles Corporation, parent company of Kidron and Hackney & Sons completed the acquisition of the assets of Grumman Olson’s Tulare, California and Montgomery, Pennsylvania facilities. Per Frank Papa, SVC President and CEO: "This acquisition becomes a major milestone as SVC solidifies its stature in being a national company with national manufacturing capability to better serve our customer base throughout the country." In addition through this acquisition, SVC will diversify its product offerings with dry freight van bodies, service bodies and cut-away vehicles for dry freight. Hackney is a market leader in the manufacture of beverage truck bodies and trailers; other products include emergency and service/utility vehicles. Kidron is also a market leader in the multi-temp, multi-stop refrigerated truck body and trailer markets. More specifically, the Tulare facility will provide a West coast presence for the current Kidron product line while at the same time potentially provide an opportunity to refurbish Hackney products in the West. The Montgomery, PA facility is one of the most modern truck manufacturing facilities in the U.S., which will provide additional capacity to manufacture Kidron’s current products along with the new cut-away and dry freight vehicles at world class operating efficiencies.
