Hackney Introduces the NEW Performer SVX |
|
WASHINGTON, NC: Focusing on customers who want a quality and efficiency advantage versus competitors in vans, pickups and trailers, Hackney, a division of Specialized Vehicles Corporation, introduces the Hackney Performer SVX: a superb quality, durable, easy to use work vehicle that is engineered to be a "shop on wheels." The Hackney Performer SVX, designed to be mounted on a commercial cutaway chassis, is available in 10- and 12-foot models with a 96-inch width. A 10-foot model with an 80-inch width is also available. "This vehicle is a home run for the quality conscious guy who wants a leg up on his competition. Being able to easily transport and access tools and supplies, and having all the tools safe and secure, gives a real advantage that will pay off with more profitable jobs and more high end customers," says an excited Mike Pearson, national sales manager for Hackney special applications vehicles. "Forget crawling around in the back of a pickup or bashing your head against the ceiling of a trailer or van. Imagine never again worrying about missing tools when you come back from lunch. The work design is a proven winner, and this vehicle is an evolutionary step ahead–a great idea, carefully engineered to a whole new level, which is exactly what Hackney does best." In creating the Hackney Performer SVX, Hackney’s veteran team of engineers took full advantage of the company’s 50-year-plus legacy of knowledge about what makes commercial vehicles work. "We’ve learned that when your customers depend on a vehicle to make a living, you’ll be successful producing those vehicles if you engineer in solid value–that means durability, safety, quality, convenience and accessibility features," states engineering team leader Curtis Brookshire. "We’ve given this Performer SVX such a nice package of features, with old-fashioned quality, that we believe it will open whole new markets for us." Durability features are built into the Hackney Performer SVX like no other. With the all-aluminum frame, compartments and rear end, there is no rust. There are premium door locks and handles (two handles on the rear doors, inside and out) and reinforced panels around the double swing out rear doors. The rear opening is nearly 50 inches wide–a sheet of plywood slides right in. There are two safety grab handles on the rear, and the back end is capped with a full width heavy-duty aluminum rear bumper with open grating for safety. "Building a tough vehicle doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice convenience, safety and accessibility," says Pearson. The Hackney Performer SVX utilizes a combination of vertical and horizontal side compartments for fast and convenient access to tools and supplies. The vertical compartments (three each side on the 12-foot model and two each side on the 10-foot model) feature an adjustable shelf in each compartment, with additional shelves available. The horizontal compartments (one each side) feature a swing-down door to form a work surface that will support up to 300 pounds. There are adjustable small parts bins inside each horizontal compartment and sliding doors provide access from the interior. All compartments lock with single point rotary automotive-style latches, and there are removable lock access panels in all compartments. These side compartment doors are premium quality and seal-tight. Full-length drip rails are installed above all doors. Equipment and materials stay secure and in good condition. The quality doesn’t stop with the compartments. The Hackney Performer SVX features a wide, clear area on the exterior sides–perfect for company graphics. The body is cushion-mounted to the chassis for less body torque and a great ride. Inside the body of the Performer SVX, there’s a full 72-inch standing room height and a functional work area on each side. Full-length adjustable aluminum shelves are available above the compartments on each side as well. The standard translucent roof with anti-snag roof bows helps visibility. Three dome lights are standard also. "The Hackney Performer SVX is perfect for the independent tradesman, contractor, and craftsmen who is on the way up," says Pearson. "The vehicle is affordable and will really deliver the value over the long haul." Optional features for the Hackney Performer SVX include roof ladder rack, central locking, wind faring storage area, a sliding bulkhead pass-through door, a Class III trailer hitch, rear access door for pipe storage, and more. Hackney and Kidron, divisions of Specialized Vehicles Corporation, manufacture the Performer SVX.
